Our kids aren’t changed because we worry about them, they are changed by our belief in them.
The human imagination is incredible.
It’s a human superpower.
Think of all the things humans have made.
All of them started with an idea in someone’s imagination.
They thought of something.
Then created it!
Cars, running water, air conditioning, airplanes, paper…
That’s the proper use of imagination.
But as moms, we often misuse our imagination.
👉 Our child doesn’t clean their room…we imagine them growing up to be lazy.
👉 Our child doesn’t feel like doing their homework…we imagine them growing up to be unemployed.
👉 Our child backtalks to us…we imagine them growing up to be rude.
Our brain goes to the worst-case scenario.
We think about all the bad things that could happen.
We think about things that could go wrong.
Sure they could come true, but us imaging them isn’t useful.
Think of your imagination as your superpower.
It can create hope or it can create fear.
Use it to create…
>> amazing relationships with your kids
>> connected responses when the kids have off-track behavior
>> compassion when your child is upset at frustrated with you.
Use it to come up with good ideas.
Use it to believe amazing things about your kiddos.
Don’t give it time to fret or worry.
Keep it busy thinking of possibility.
