Self-Doubt IS Normal
I talk to a lot of parents who think self-doubt is a problem.
But self-doubt isn’t a problem.
It’s simply a feeling we have.
Most parents experience self-doubt.
So if you’re doubting yourself right now, you’re in good company.
Here are some thoughts that trigger it…
“I don’t know if I can do this.”
“I’m just not as good as her.”
“I just yelled at the kids again. I’m such a loser.”
“I am never going to be able to stop overreacting.”
“I did it again…I just can’t get this right.”
Self-doubt is just a feeling.
It can feel terrible.
But it’s just a feeling.
A feeling created by thoughts like the ones above.
Nothing more than that.
You can be full of self-doubt and still rock it as a mom.
You can “mess up.”
And instead of giving yourself a bunch of judgment.
Give yourself a bunch of grace.
Then…
Feel your emotions.
Validate yourself.
And when you’re ready let it go and move on.
Quit thinking you shouldn’t be feeling self-doubt.
Start thinking “It’s not a problem to feel self-doubt.”
Start thinking “what matters is my reaction to feeling self-doubt.”
