Life isn’t fair.
Some people have more advantages than others.
Some kids seem easier than other kids.
What the heck?!
I used to wish things were different.
But now I’m thankful life isn’t fair.
If life were fair, we might not have clean drinking water.
The fact that we have clean drinking water isn’t fair.
It’s a huge blessing.
We forget how fortunate we are.
Clean drinking water.
Grocery stores, full of food.
Heaters that warm our homes.
Emergency Rooms if we get hurt.
We forget how miraculous this life is.
We forget to celebrate it because we wish it was different.
What if we dropped that?
What if everything that’s happened is perfect?
What if nothing has gone wrong?
I invite you to join me in celebrating the miracles in our lives.
To start really appreciating all we have and see what happens.

Life isn’t fair.
We have different experiences.
Some people seem to have more advantages than others.
Some kids seem easier than other kids.
Sometimes things that worked for someone else don’t work for us.
We wish our kid’s energetic behavior was more like our sweet little 2-year-old niece’s behavior. She hardly says a peep and does everything her parents say.
We wish bedtime was easier like that mom we met at the park. She talked about what a dream bedtime was for her. We are so tired at bedtime that we can’t wait until it’s over. We stop seeing the miracle of the kiddos’ sweet smile when we’re reading to them because the whole thing has turned into a drag.
We wish they would just pick up their rooms like other kids. As a result, we spend the night thinking about that instead of the lovely bike ride we went on together.
