Shut up and play with your kids!

Play can change everything! 💃

👉 When emotions get triggered my go-to is to drop everything and play with my kids.

Some of my favs are…

✔️ The Spontaneous Dance Party

✔️ Just You Try (I guard the couch and my kids try to get past me)

✔️ Classic — Hide And Seek

In the morning ☀️ playing a few rounds of something before you start getting ready for the day can make all the difference.

I promise it’s worth getting up a few minutes ⏰ early to have time to do it.

It doesn’t matter if you’re naturally a ‘get on the floor and play with the kids’ kind of mom. Or if play seems a bit foreign to you.

That’s totally normal.

Often we adults forget how to play.

It might feel awkward at first, but if give it an honest try and keep doing it, I bet you’ll end up enjoying it as much as I did.

Playing is one of the best ways to connect ❤️ us with our kids. Scientists talk about how it increases bonding, higher thinking, and drops our defenses.

It’s amazing!!

Sure your kids might be sad when it ends (and it might feel like it’s not working at first), but if you keep doing it consistently they’ll relax once they know it’s not going to be the last time you do something like his.

Spending just 6-8 minutes playing with them can make the rest of the day go so much smoother.

For me the minutes I spend playing with my kids feel like the most magical moments of the day.

🙌 Use it when your kids are fighting, someone seems a bit edgy, you’re feeling disconnected, nobody wants to do their chores before you start bedtime, or if the kids are whining, cranky and complaining.
