I’m smart — why can I NOT figure this parenting thing out??
I had BIG hopes and dreams of what life would be like as a parent.
Then I had kids, my BIG hopes and dreams crashed and burned.
At first, I wasn’t worried.
I was a smart girl.
I knew how to work hard and learn new things.
I got straight A’s through college and even got my Nursing Degree in 3 1/2 years instead of 4.
I read books, set goals, made plans, recited mantras, and…
Nope…
Nada…
Didn’t work.
Old habits die hard.
And my habit of losing my mind when —
>>the house was messy
>> the kids wouldn’t go to bed
>> I felt like I was the only one who helped around the house
>>the kids told me ‘no’
— stayed firmly in place.
It was like a weed I couldn’t kill.
I tried sooo hard to be patient, kind, compassionate, and caring.
I had blips of success…but nothing that lasted for long.
Now I can see what I was missing.
Me not knowing how to change from the inside out.
Thank goodness I know how to now.
💥 I see, then I ACCEPT.
💥 I feel, then I RELEASE.
💥 I choose, then I COMMIT.
💥 I believe, then I BECOME.
This is the pattern for taking action.
To create something new we have to take action that lines up with our thoughts and beliefs.
You can’t fake it!
You have to believe it!
Once you believe it you have to practice it!
You can say a mantra 100 times, but if you don’t believe it you’ve wasted your time.
You’ll stay stuck in your ways.
Not because anything is wrong with you, just because you aren’t believing it and then taking aligned actions.

PS Figuring out how to parent by connection, not correction is only hard because no one has taught you how yet. You’ve got this! Let me show you how!!
